Here you can search for the records held by different archival institutions within the University of Turin. The website is provided by the AtoM web-based, free, open source application for standards based archival description.
The Historical Archive started using the AtoM application to manage and make its own archival descriptions available on line. In order to achieve the same goal, the application was then proposed to different archival institutions within the University.
The Historical ArchiveThe Historical Archive collections were gathered within the space of about fifteen years. The first inventory was compiled between 1987 and 1993, using Microsoft Word. The secondly collected records were ordered and described between 2003 and 2004, using Microsoft Access. An overall revision began in 2005, using the Guarini Archivi software, developed by CSI and the Piedmont Region. When the application became obsolete, we had to face the choice of a new one, which had to be ICA standards compliant. The data were therefore migrated from Guarini to Atom and are gradually made public after an accurate revision.
University MuseumsThe fonds held at the Palazzo degli Istituti anatomici were ordered and described between 2004 and 2009 thanks to the Soprintendenza archivistica per il Piemonte e la Valle d’Aosta support, using the same Guarini Archivi application. In 2014, the Historical Archive took charge of the data migration from Guarin to Atom. The fonds held by ASTUT were imported in January 2015.

In 2014, the Historical Archive took charge of the data migration from Guarin to AtoM.
