Lettera inviata da Genova il 13 luglio 1847. Peveraro, arrivato a Genova, gli ha fatto avere le graminacee mandategli da Moris. Con Peveraro ha incontrato il Presidente capo e con loro ha discusso del nuovo regolamento. Alcune sue proposte sono state accettate. Molti sono scontenti, ma Cristo stesso si dispererebbe se dovesse governare questa gente irrequieta e maligna. Peveraro gli ha dato le 125 lire per Bucco, che sarà di ritorno dall’Appennino la settimana seguente e gli ha detto che sono state assegnate 8.000 lire per le serre. A settembre De Notaris visiterà le spezierie di Levante.
