Lettera inviata da Bologna il 10 ottobre 1854. Il figlio di Bertoloni, Giuseppe, in visita a Torino, è stato ammirato delle bellezze della città. Bertoloni ha saputo che ventiquattro aspiranti ad un impiego nelle Regie Poste Sarde sono stati chiamati a sostenere un esame di ammissione. Occorrerà rammentare al Conte di Pollone di fare in modo che il nipote Cesare Franchini sia ammesso, almeno come praticante, alla Posta di Sarzana.
