Negli anni 1848-1849 alcune provengono da studenti del Lombardo-Veneto che avevano combattuto al fianco delle truppe piemontesi nella Prima Guerra d'Indipendenza e che, dopo la definitiva sconfitta di Carlo Alberto, si rifugiano esuli nel Regno di Sardegna.
