Lettera inviata da Milano il 17 novembre 1839. De Notaris spedisce a Moris i semi di cocomero. Dirà a Cesati di sollecitare il libraio Meisner ad inviargli i volumi a lui destinati. E’ riuscito ad “agguantare” Vittadini e gli ha chiesto perché non ha risposto alla lettera di Genè e non ha accettato la proposta di Moris. Vittadini ha addotto alcune astruse ragioni, in accordo con il suo carattere selvatico. Partirà presto per Genova passando per Torino, poiché la strada di Pavia e Casteggio è stata distrutta dalle acque del Po.
